Drug Info online training

This one hour online course introduces public library staff to the Drug Info service

Course overview

The Drug Info online training module covers topics including:

  • why Drug Info is in public libraries
  • the Drug Info collections and website
  • where to find information relating to alcohol and other drugs
  • promotion.

The training takes about one hour to complete and includes short videos, regular quizzes to test your knowledge, and a virtual showbag you can fill with checklists, a calendar and much more.

Who is this course for?

This course is for staff working in NSW public libraries. The workshop will suit all levels of staff including new public library staff and those seeking to refresh their knowledge.

Course delivery

 The training is delivered online.

To sign in to the training portal, go to:

You will be asked to select your library from the drop down menu and enter a password – use the password DrugInfo2020. 

After logging in you will then be asked to create your own account. Once this is done, you can use the login button to sign in.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the workshop participants will understand:

  • the aims of Drug Info and its value to the community 
  • how to provide a drug and alcohol information service at public libraries.

What's included

All training materials are included in the online training portal. When participants have completed the training, they are able to print out a training certificate.

Cost

This workshop is free for NSW public library staff.
