Toast the Seniors Festival with our new mocktail and more
The NSW Seniors Festival is being held from 11-24 March 2024. This year's theme is Reach Beyond!
Libraries run a range of programs and events for the Seniors Festival. It's a great time to let the seniors in your community know where they can find information about the law, drugs and alcohol and where to get help.
Celebrate the Seniors Festival with our new western-themed literary mocktail recipe. ‘Blue Grit’ pays homage to the 1968 Charles Portis novel True Grit, adapted for a film starring John Wayne and then remade by the Coen brothers in 2010. Special thanks to Nicky Stewart at Ku-ring-gai Library for the title suggestion!
Blue Grit combines the classic flavour combination of blueberry and lemon with soda water for fizz, a dash of hot sauce for that western spice and a sprig of rosemary to add the grit to a unique and delicious alternative to alcohol.
Entertain your library community with a fun and interactive game of bingo to promote the quality information about alcohol and other drugs available through Drug Info.
Drug Fact Bingo is Drug Info's latest promotion, suitable for your program of events for the upcoming NSW Seniors Festival and available any time for in-library programming and outreach events. It includes a discussion guide with information about a range of different psychoactive drugs and can be played by up to 30 participants.
The seniors in your community can check how much they know about scams by doing our quick online scams quiz.
Display one of the posters below in your library or at your events. The posters have a QR code that links to a quiz dealing with different types of scams.
Promote your Find Legal Answers and Drug Info services on social media
A selection of social media posts has been created for you to share across your social media channels. Simply copy and paste the content and download the relevant image to share on your social media channels.
