Scholar Talks

Scholar Talks is a series of events that was established to facilitate opportunities, and an environment, for researchers to exchange ideas and learn about some of the many other research projects being pursued at the State Library of NSW.

This increasingly popular program, which attracts hundreds of people each year, began in March 2011 and presentations are now delivered on the first Tuesday of the month from February until November at 11 am. Scholar Talks presentations are typically 30-45 minutes long and are followed by a question and answer session. As informal talks, the Scholar Talks series has expanded from providing a forum for researchers and scholars to a program that allows all members of the Library’s diverse communities to exchange ideas and meet other Library users, in a relaxed and casual environment.

We are always open to new ideas for talks and presentations. Researchers are invited to submit a proposal outlining a presentation they would like to deliver that shares their experiences and discoveries in using the Library’s incredibly rich collections.
