About Bri Lee
Bri Lee is an author and freelance writer. She is also an editor, speaker, and academic who is qualified to practice law (but doesn't) and is the 2020 Copyright Agency UTS New Writer-in-Residence.
Bri has written for The Monthly, Good Weekend, Harper’s Bazaar Australia, The Saturday Paper, Crikey, The Guardian, Griffith Review, i-D, VAULT Art Magazine, and elsewhere. She appears on The Drum on ABC TV, various ABC Radio National programs, and runs the monthly “B List Bookclub” at the State Library of New South Wales.
Her first book, Eggshell Skull, was published in June 2018. It won six major awards, including the Biography of the Year at the Australian Book Industry Awards, and received many more listings, including being longlisted for The Stella Prize. Bri’s second book, an essay called Beauty, came out in November 2019.
Bri has received numerous fellowships and residencies, including winning the 2018 Premier’s Young Publishers and Writers Award at the Queensland Literary Awards. She is now finishing an MPhil in Creative Writing at the University of Queensland.
