The Banks Project aims to improve access to the State Library’s Sir Joseph Banks collection. 

We have completed the first stage of the Project which includes digitising the Sir Joseph Banks papers and enhancing our detailed research guide. We have also provided background on the life of Sir Joseph Banks and access to the fully digitised Endeavour journal.  Also included are links to other significant Banks collections around the world.

The second stage will include full transcriptions of all documents in the archive, thus making them fully keyword searchable.  You can help us complete this second stage by joining our team of digital volunteers here.

The Banks project aims are to enhance discovery and access to the collection and promote the research potential in this  significant archive.
