What is it?

The Verandah is an open and informal space where you can sit back and relax with a daily newspaper, use the free wi-fi or simply find a quiet spot to study.

When you visit

Didn't bring your own device? You can use an express computer in the Verandah. Express computers can be used for up to 30 minutes and you don't need a Library card.

You can take your bags and covered drinks into this area.

Location

The Verandah is on Lower Ground 1 in the Macquarie Street building.

History

The Verandah opened in September 2011 as part of the refurbishment of the State Reference Library Reading Room - now known as the Governor Marie Bashir Reading Room. The Verandah was designed as an open, informal space in response to client's changing needs.
