Right to information: external review
The Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 provides two avenues of external review of access decisions:
NSW Information Commissioner
If you made a formal application for access and are unhappy with the State Library's decision you have the right to seek a review by the Information Commissioner.
Applications for review by the Information Commissioner must be made within 8 weeks of receiving the State Library's decision.

NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal
If you made a formal application for access and are unhappy with the State Library's decision you have the right to seek review by the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal. You do not have to seek review by the Information Commissioner before applying to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
Applications for review by the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal must be made within 8 weeks of receiving the State Library's decision or at any time up to 4 weeks after completion of a review by the Information Commissioner.
