Discover one of the greatest writers of all time. Visit the beautiful Shakespeare room - one of the hidden treasures of Sydney - explore the stories of Shakespeare, dress in costumes that will bring the Elizabethan era to life and enjoy a drama workshop.
In this 2 hour program students will:
- explore the exquisite Shakespeare room, built to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the poet’s death
- view rare objects and works from the Shakespeare collection
- enjoy a drama workshop based on As You Like It
- record their performance and take it back to school.
Curriculum Outcomes
Stage 3 – English
- EN3-CWT-01 Plans, creates and revises written texts for multiple purposes and audiences through selection of text features, sentence-level grammar, punctuation and word-level language
- EN3-UARL-01 Analyses representations of ideas in literature through narrative, character, imagery, symbol and connotation, and adapts these representations when creating texts
Stage 4 – English
- EN4-URB-01 examines and explains how texts represent ideas, experiences and values
- EN4-URC-01 identifies and explains ways of valuing texts and the connections between them
- EN4-ECA-01 creates personal, creative and critical texts for a range of audiences by using linguistic and stylistic conventions of language to express ideas
Stage 5 – English
- EN5-URB-01 evaluates how texts represent ideas and experiences, and how they can affirm or challenge values and attitudes
- EN5-URC-01 investigates and explains ways of valuing texts and the relationships between them
- EN5-ECA-01 crafts personal, creative and critical texts for a range of audiences by experimenting with and controlling language forms and features to shape meaning

$230 for groups up to 15 and $355 for groups of 16 - 30.

Monday, Wednesday - Fridays during term time.

Minimum Supervision Ratio
Kindergarten – Year 2 - 1 adult per 5 students
Year 3 – Year 6 - 1 adult per 10 students
Secondary students - 1 adult per 20 students
