GANGgajang, Sydney1986
Award-winning Sydney-based photographer Wendy McDougall took up photography in high school after being inspired by the work of Annie Leibovitz. She was soon using her skills to photograph bands at live gigs, but it was her studio work, with a unique vision for every band and musician she photographed, that set her apart. Over 40 years of photographing musicians, Wendy’s work spans generations of musical styles. One thing that has not changed is her passion for both mediums — a fact amply reflected in these photos of Australian musicians taken between 1986 and 2017.
GANGgajang were formed in Sydney and their 1984 debut album sold more than 120,000 copies.
