The State Archives and Records Authority of New South Wales is one of Australia’s pre-eminent Archives and Records Authorities and the custodian of the NSW State Archives Collection, a globally significant collection of more than 13 million items dating back to 1787, before the European settlement of Australia.
With responsibilities for the development, preservation and access for the State’s archives, NSW State Archives and Records is also responsible for managing and storing over 640 kilometres of semi-permanent Government records for NSW public sector offices.
